Alex Stolz is an experienced professional in the Film and Media industry. Alex has held various roles since 2000, beginning with Senior Cinema Programmer at Picturehouse Cinemas Ltd. In 2004, they moved to the UK Film Council as Senior Executive Distribution and Exhibition, where they led audience film strategy and funding schemes. In 2011, they became Head of Distribution at the British Film Institute, responsible for creating and executing film strategy for Sales, Distribution and Cinema. In 2015, they took on the role of Distribution Consultant at Film London. In 2017, they became Podcast | Film & Media Strategy | Consultant | Executive Producer | TV | Cinema | Distribution at Film Disruptors, where they worked on innovative and actionable Film and Media Strategy. In 2018, they joined usheru - consumer connected movie marketing as Head of Film | Strategy and Business Development. Most recently, in 2019, they became Creative Director and Founder of Future of Film, a Podcast, annual Summit and more dedicated to creating the future of filmmaking.
Alex Stolz completed a BA in Film and American Studies from the University of East Anglia in 1996. Alex also attended Temple University from 1994 to 1995, where they completed a BA in Film and American Studies. In 1998, they completed an MA in Film Studies from Birkbeck, University of London.
