Ben Shapiro

Director, Digital Product Development at U.S. Pharmacopeial Convention

Ben Shapiro has a diverse work history, with experience in a variety of roles related to digital product development, informatics, and product management. Ben most recently worked at US Pharmacopeia, where they held the positions of Director of Digital Product Development and Senior Manager of Digital Product Development. In these roles, they led a product team responsible for developing digital and informatics products, including advanced qNMR analytics and the Medicine Supply Map. Prior to their time at USP, Shapiro worked at Mettler-Toledo International, Inc as a Senior Product Manager and Product Manager, focusing on particle characterization hardware and software product lines. Ben also served as a PSC Product Specialist and Software Test Engineer within the same company. Before Mettler-Toledo, Shapiro worked at Norfolk Naval Shipyard as an Assistant Shift Test Engineer.

Ben Shapiro has a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Chemical Engineering from the University of Maryland, which they obtained in 2013. Ben then pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) in Material Science and Engineering from the University of Maryland, completing it in 2017. Currently, Ben is pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Marketing and Healthcare Innovation at The Johns Hopkins University - Carey Business School, which they are expected to complete in 2024. In addition, they have obtained a certification in Leading Complex Projects from IDEO U.
