Elizabeth also served as an Immigration Compliance Program Manager from August 2006 to January 2008, managing the day-to-day operations of the immigration compliance team and ensuring adherence to employment eligibility verification processes. O'Keefe's earlier role at Microsoft was as an Immigration Paralegal.

Elizabeth O'Keefe attended Plymouth State University from 1989 to 1994, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Political Science and Government. In 2012, they obtained the Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional certification from the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics (SCCE).
