U.S. Pharmacopeial Convention
Scott Jackson is an accomplished scientist with extensive experience in microbial sciences and biophysics. Currently serving as an Associate at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) since May 2014, Scott advises on the microbial sciences program, having previously founded and led NIST's microbiology group. In addition to this role, Scott is the Chief Scientific Officer at Recondite.Consulting and an Adjunct Assistant Professor at The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences, specializing in the human microbiome and its applications in integrative medicine. Scott also contributes as a U.S. Pharmacopeia Probiotics Expert Volunteer and was a Principal Investigator at the FDA, conducting significant research on the genomic diversity of enteric pathogens. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Maryland and further training at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory and the University of South Carolina.
