Janel Johnson, PhD, is a highly experienced biologist with a strong background in molecular neuroscience and genetics. With extensive professional experience at the National Institutes of Health, Janel identified novel genetic causes of Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and contributed to effective treatments for childhood motor neuron disease. Janel has also worked as a Biology Patent Examiner at the USPTO, examining inventions related to cancer immunotherapy, and in various research roles at Quest Diagnostics and the Henry M. Jackson Foundation, focusing on oncology and vaccine research. Janel holds a PhD in Molecular Neuroscience from UCL and a BA in Biology from The Johns Hopkins University.
