Michael Kerrigan

Michael Kerrigan is an experienced professional in patent examination and engineering, currently serving as a Primary Patent Examiner at the USPTO since September 2013, focusing on Vehicle Control Systems and Navigation with Full Signatory Authority. Previously, Michael worked for the Department of Veterans Affairs from August 2008 to September 2013 in various roles including Interim Director of Engineering Research and Fabrication Laboratory, where advisory and engineering design evaluation were key responsibilities, and Intellectual Property Liaison, working closely with inventors on patent-related inquiries. Michael's background also includes serving as a Biomechanical Engineer, where development of rehabilitative and assistive devices was emphasized, and conducting research on traumatic brain injuries as a Graduate Research Assistant. Michael holds a Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of South Florida and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from The Ohio State University.
