Nicholas Oates

Nicholas Oates is an experienced security analyst currently serving at the United States Strategic Command since January 2022. Prior to this role, Nicholas held similar positions as a security analyst at UNITED STATES AFRICA COMMAND from January 2016 to January 2022 and at the United States Department of Defense from September 2010 to December 2015. Nicholas has also worked as a liaison officer, team lead, technical analyst (deployed), and intern within the Department of Defense. Earlier experience includes serving as a research assistant at the UMD Center for Public Policy and Private Enterprise from March 2010 to June 2011. Nicholas Oates holds a Master of Public Policy in International Security and Economic Policy from the University of Maryland and a Bachelor of Arts in History and Psychology, along with a Certificate in International Relations and Affairs from Cornell University.
