UTBIONIC is a volunteer-driven bioengineering design team at the University of Toronto dedicated to creating custom, cost-free medical devices for individuals in need. We design and build assistive technologies such as prosthetic limbs, adaptive tools, and writing aids, partnering with organizations like e-NABLE and Makers Making Change to expand our impact.

Through our projects, members gain hands-on experience in 3D printing, CAD modeling, prototyping, and the full engineering design cycle — from concept to delivery. Our clients range from hospitals and rehabilitation centers to healthcare nonprofits and NGOs, as well as individuals seeking specialized devices.

We welcome students from all disciplines and skill levels — no prior experience is required. Our workshops and mentorship opportunities ensure that every member can contribute meaningfully to real-world solutions that make a difference.
