Paulo Protachevicz

Paulo Protachevicz is a Senior AI Researcher at UTFPR since January 2025, focusing on artificial intelligence methods to investigate epileptic seizures through computational neuronal network models. Previously, Paulo served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at USP - Universidade São Paulo, where contributions included a novel model for synaptic plasticity related to memory processes. Additionally, Paulo worked as a Visiting Scientist at the PIK - Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research, exploring long-term learning in neural networks, and participated in a workshop at the Max Planck Institute for Physics on non-autonomous dynamics in complex systems. An Honorary Researcher at the University of Aberdeen, Paulo studied short-term learning by synaptic dynamics. Paulo holds a Master's in Science and a PhD in Physics, both in Computational Neuroscience, from Universidade Estadual de Ponta Grossa.
