Brent Crain

Brent Crain is a GIS Project Specialist and Engineering Technician at Utilitra since July 2020, specializing in enhancing the company’s GIS capabilities. Key responsibilities include leading electric manhole inspections and mapping projects, providing GIS and CAD support, and performing land surveying. Brent is certified as a FAA Part 107 Drone Pilot and has extensive software proficiency, including ArcGIS Pro and AutoCAD. Previously, Brent served as a Geospatial Analyst at VerticalGeo, focusing on geospatial data production and analysis, as well as a GIS Technician at Ameren and Nicor Gas, where Brent contributed to data conversion and GIS project development. Early career experience includes a GPS Field Technician Intern role at American Water, where Brent assisted in extensive data collection and training interns. Brent earned a Bachelor’s degree in Geography from Illinois State University and studied Geography and Spanish abroad at Universidad LCI Veritas.
