Roy Thompson

Roy Thompson is an experienced professional with a robust background in defect management and technical leadership within the technology and energy sectors. Currently serving as the Technical Lead for Smart Devices at Utility Warehouse since December 2020, Roy has previously held key positions including Defect Manager at SSE plc, where responsibilities involved managing defect inflow on Smart Metering projects, and at Arqiva for the Smart Metering Implementation Programme. Notable experiences also include serving as Global Defect Manager at Accenture for Nokia, leading defect management for high-quality smartphone developments, and holding a leadership role at Nokia overseeing a team of defect managers. Early in the career, Roy contributed to improvements in defect management processes at Symbian while leveraging Six Sigma principles. Educationally, Roy holds a BEng in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Bath.
