Dai has a varied work experience, beginning in 2014 when they served as a Teaching Associate for Citizen Schools. From there, they went on to become a Product Owner for Amplify in 2014 and Renaissance Learning in 2015. In 2016, they held the role of Product Manager for Realmax Technology Limited. From 2017 to 2018, they were a Master of Public Policy Candidate and Program on Education Policy and Governance Fellow at Harvard Kennedy School. In 2020, they held the role of Startup Success Manager for Third Derivative and Rocky Mountain Institute, as well as Freelance Consultant, Facilitator, & Writer for Self Employed. Currently, Dai is a Sr. Technical Account Manager for UtilityAPI.

Dai attended Stuyvesant High School from 2001 to 2005. dai then obtained a Bachelor of Arts in English from Dartmouth College from 2005 to 2009. In 2018, they earned a Master of Science in System Design and Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Additionally, they have obtained a Certified Product Owner certification from the Scrum Alliance.
