Andrew Thomson

Andrew Thomson is the current Chief of Government Relations at University of Toronto. Andrew has over 25 years of experience in public sector strategy and business development. Prior to joining University of Toronto, they served as the Director of Public Sector Strategy at Cisco. In this role, they were responsible for leading Cisco's public sector go-to-market group and developing market transformation strategies with government agencies across the Asia Pacific region.

Before joining Cisco, Mr. Thomson served as a Public Sector Consultant for the government of Saskatchewan. In this role, they were responsible for leading education policy advocacy and executive advising for the Vice President of Global Education. Andrew also directed influence strategies, thought leadership, and policy approaches for engagements with Chief Executive Officers.

Mr. Thomson has a long history of public service and commitment to policy development. Andrew served as a Cabinet Minister for the government of Saskatchewan where they were responsible for finance, learning, public safety, and energy. During their time in this role, they were instrumental in developing policies that helped Saskatchewan become one of Canada's leading provinces in terms of economic growth and job creation.

Andrew Thomson received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Studies from the University of Saskatchewan.
