Joanne Kellermann

Joanne Kellermann has had a long and successful career in the financial sector. Joanne began their career as an attorney at the Dutch bank Nautadutilh in 1984. In 1992, they were promoted to head of the bank's Amsterdam branch. During their time at Nautadutilh, they were also involved in several high-profile cases, including the bankruptcy of the airline KLM.

In 2005, Kellermann left Nautadutilh to join the Dutch central bank, De Nederlandsche Bank, as general counsel and director of the legal services division. In this role, they were responsible for the bank's legal affairs and for providing advice on banking regulation to the Dutch government. Joanne served in this role for two years before being promoted to executive director in 2007. As executive director, they were responsible for the bank's supervision of the Dutch financial sector. Joanne served in this role for seven years, until they left the bank in 2014.

Kellermann then joined the Single Resolution Board, an institution established by the European Union to resolve failed banks, as director of resolution planning and decisions. Joanne held this position for three years before joining Utrecht University as Chair in January 2018.

Joanne Kellermann studied law at Leiden University, where they obtained their masters and master of laws degrees.
