Fola Esan

Fola Esan is an advisor at UTU Technologies. Fola was previously the Chief Executive Officer of the East Africa Region for Schneider Electric, where they were responsible for sales team development, acquisitions, and operational leadership.

Under their leadership, the company successfully integrated a newly acquired company in Nairobi, Kenya with 350 employees and multimillion-dollar annual revenue into the global organization within time, scope, and budget. Fola also led the post-merger integration of systems, processes and workflows, and formulated and implemented a regional business development strategy.

Esan has a proven track record of successful growth planning and operational improvement. Fola established profitable new operations in five countries, Burundi, Ethiopia, Somalia, Tanzania and Uganda, while attaining a significant market share in difficult emerging markets within two years. In one year, they achieved 33% revenue growth and appointed 20 new distribution agents (threefold increase) in the region.

Fola has also introduced focused HR initiatives that have transformed and motivated the executive management team and workforce. The increased management commitment to the organizational goals has resulted in improving the employee engagement by 150% while increasing employee satisfaction survey score from 50% to 78%.

Fola Esan has an MBA from London Business School, a diploma in Petroleum Engineering & Reservoir Fundamentals from The University of Tulsa, and a BSc (Hons) in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from Obafemi Awolowo University. Fola also has a certification from CarneGroup in Luxembourg AML/CFT Training 2021.
