David Matthews

David Matthews has worked in the software engineering and development field since 2006. In 2007, they were an Engineering Intern at JB Hunt Transport Services, Inc., where they developed internal reporting webpages using PHP, Javascript, and SQL. In 2008, they were a Student Researcher at Purdue University, doing High Performance Computing research using FPGAs and presenting their research at Teragrid08. David was also a Test Engineer/Software Engineer at TVcompass, where they tested software releases and designed and developed new applications. From 2009 to 2012, they worked at nPhase, LLC and Verizon, where they managed multiple software releases, created PoCs for new applications, setup and configured a TeamCity Build server, and was a team lead responsible for migrating a SQL Server integration to Oracle 11. From 2014 to 2015, they were a Software Engineer III at Rising Medical Solutions, where they led the development of a custom replication service between an in-house database and a third party system. From 2015 to 2016, they were the Director of Engineering at Uturn Data Solutions, where they led a project to migrate a HIPAA compliant company to AWS and led a development team to release www.OpenGrid.io. Finally, from 2016 to present, they are the Software Development Manager at RAY · ALLEN INC., where they manage two development teams, nine direct-report developers, and seven different products. In 2016, they managed a major product upgrade which resulted in over $500k revenue growth in 2017.

David Matthews has an extensive educational background. David earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance from DePaul Driehaus College of Business between 2012 and 2014. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) from Purdue University between 2004 and 2009. David also holds four certifications from Amazon Web Services (AWS): AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional, AWS Certified Developer - Associate, AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate, and AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional.
