Michael Holgate is a distinguished professional with extensive experience in arts and cultural management. Currently serving as the Director of the Events and Creative Management Office at The University of the West Indies since August 2007, Michael also leads the Philip Sherlock Centre for the Creative Arts, where a team is dedicated to fulfilling the artistic needs of a diverse audience from sixteen Caribbean territories. Michael has held various leadership roles within the Centre, including Acting Head and Tutor Coordinator, focusing on the sustainability of arts initiatives. Additionally, Michael has been the Artistic/Creative Director of ASHE Performing Arts Company since July 1993, providing creative leadership and directing culturally enriching projects. Academic credentials include a Master of Philosophy in Cultural Studies and a Bachelor’s degree in Literatures in English from The University of the West Indies, along with ongoing doctoral studies in Cultural Studies at the same institution.
