Joseph Tan has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Joseph is currently the Co-founder & Chief Executive Officer of uwi, a Southeast Asian company that provides Home-Lending-as-a-Service, allowing banks and non-banking financial institutions to become home lenders with ease. uwi was accepted into Y Combinator, a prestigious accelerator program.
Before uwi, Joseph served as the Principal Managing Partner of Savoy Property Group LLC, an investment group focused on North American commercial real estate. Joseph partnered with family offices and private investors to develop investment strategies that aimed at wealth preservation and capital appreciation. During their tenure, they also launched SPG Ventures, which focused on proptech investments with a special emphasis on Esports and Green Technology.
Prior to that, Joseph was the Managing Partner & Chief Investment Officer at Bluebird Self Storage, where they successfully scaled a startup self-storage platform and turned it into the 7th largest storage company in Canada within three years. Joseph managed a portfolio with an estimated value of over $500 million CAD, spread across Calgary, Edmonton, Montreal, and Toronto.
Earlier in their career, Joseph served as the Managing Partner at Mulberry Capital LLC from 2012 to 2014.
