Sofie Gevaert is an accomplished medical professional with extensive experience in cardiology and academia. Currently serving as a board member for the Acute Cardiovascular Care Association of the European Society of Cardiology since October 2018, Sofie also holds the position of Associate Professor of Medicine at Universiteit Gent and is a cardiologist-intensivist at University Hospital Gent, roles that have been ongoing since October 2018 and 2000, respectively. In addition, Sofie has served as Kliniekhoofd at UZ Gent since October 1996 and was a member of the College of Cardiologists Belgium from May 2013 to January 2020. Sofie Gevaert completed medical education at Ghent University from 1987 to 1994 and received early education at Sint Pieters Instituut in Gent.
