Tom Vanacker is a kwaliteitscoördinator integrale kwaliteitszorg at UZ Gent, a position held since 1998, where they have also served as coördinerend hoofdverpleegkundige and in various nursing leadership roles. In addition, they are currently a nationaal sepsiscoördinator for FOD Volksgezondheid, Veiligheid van de Voedselketen en Leefmilieu. Tom obtained their Licentiaat in medisch-sociale wetenschappen with a focus on Gezondheidsvoorlichting and opvoeding from Universiteit Gent, and also holds degrees from Katholieke Hogeschool Leuven and Katho Roeselare in specialized nursing fields.
