Luit T. has a diverse work experience in the medical field. They started their career as a PhD-student at Erasmus MC in 2009 and worked in that role until 2012. They then joined IJsselland Ziekenhuis as a Resident in internal medicine (AIOS) from 2012 to 2015. After that, Luit T. returned to Erasmus MC and held the positions of Resident in internal medicine (AIOS) and Fellow infectious diseases from 2015 to 2018. They also worked as a Consultant internal medicine and infectious diseases (Internist infectioloog) at Erasmus MC for a brief period in 2018. From 2018 onwards, Luit T. joined UZA, where they held the roles of Internist - Infectioloog and Chief medical information officer. Additionally, in 2021, they became a Gastprofessor at Universiteit Antwerpen.

Luit T. began their education at Eerst Christelijk Lyceum Haarlem from 1994 to 2000, although no specific degree or field of study is indicated. From 2001 to 2005, they attended the University of Groningen and earned an MSc in Human Movement Sciences.
