Vicky Barris has extensive experience in real estate, serving as a Realtor at Hatteras Realty, Inc. since June 1989. In addition to real estate, Vicky contributed to community development as a committee member for the Outer Banks Scenic Byway from 2001 to 2010, promoting local infrastructure improvements. Earlier career experience includes working as a Hatteras Island Correspondent for Outer Banks Current / Island Breeze from March 1982 to August 1987, alongside renowned writer Ray Couch, and serving as an English teacher at Cape Hatteras Secondary School of Coastal Studies during 1985-1986. Vicky holds a BA in English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a BS in Secondary Education, English from East Carolina University.
