Grant Butschek

Grant Butschek is a PhD candidate at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, where research focuses on the impact of respiratory tract temperature on host cell mitochondrial biology during viral infections. As a Commercialization Academy Fellow at Johns Hopkins Technology Ventures, Grant collaborates with the Technology Development team to evaluate the scientific and commercial viability of new technologies. Experience includes directing alumni relations for the Hopkins Biotech Network, facilitating mentoring in the biotech sector, and interning at Barinthus Biotherapeutics, contributing to preclinical immunotherapy development. Prior experience includes research technician roles at the University of Georgia, where Grant conducted drug discovery and protein analysis related to apicomplexan parasites. Education comprises a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Georgia and ongoing doctoral studies in Microbiology and Immunology at Johns Hopkins.
