Rick Hurst

Rick Hurst has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Rick currently works at Vadum Inc. as a Senior Technical Program Manager, where they manage a team and portfolio of products focused on improving the accuracy of ballistic targeting using computer vision, optical density visualization techniques, and augmented reality. Rick is responsible for managing research, design, development, and delivery of various technologies.

Before joining Vadum Inc., Rick worked as an Adjunct Professor at Florida State University, where they prepared and delivered lectures and online material to undergraduate students. Rick also played a role in creating, evaluating, and revising course content and materials.

Rick also served as the Director of Artificial Intelligence at Camgian Microsystems, where they managed and provided guidance to the AI and Machine Learning Team. Rick worked directly with Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong during their time at NANTHEALTH.

In addition, Rick worked as a Software Engineer and Cybersecurity Engineer at ISPA Technology, where they developed software automating IA processes remotely and worked on projects such as the Deployable Joint Command and Control system.

Rick Hurst completed their education with a Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering from Florida State University in 2008. Rick then pursued a Master's degree in Software Engineering from the University of West Florida, graduating in 2011. Rick further continued their education at Florida State University, where they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Cyber Security from 2013 to 2016. Alongside their formal education, they also obtained several certifications, including Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator from Microsoft in October 2010, CompTIA Linux+ from CompTIA in March 2010, and CompTIA Security+ from CompTIA in July 2009.
