Vakamo is the Iceberg governance company – starting with Lakekeeper, the open-source Apache Iceberg catalog for the modern Lakehouse.

Modern data teams need more than just storage. They need control.
Lakekeeper gives you a fast, flexible, and fully open Apache Iceberg catalog – REST-native, self-hostable, and ready for production.

We built it because existing solutions are too closed, too heavy, or too expensive.
With Lakekeeper, you get the foundation to build your Lakehouse your way – no lock-in, no nonsense.

And we’re just getting started.

Vakamo is building the Lakehouse control plane for Apache Iceberg:
	•	Table maintenance and smart compaction to keep performance high and costs low
	•	Computational governance to manage how, where, and by whom workloads are executed
	•	Data contracts to define clear expectations between data producers and consumers, enforced directly at the catalog layer

We believe governance shouldn’t slow you down – it should be built into your stack, programmable, and aligned with how modern teams work. Just clear rules, embedded into your platform.

Vakamo is open for design partnerships.
If you’re building data products at scale and want to shape the future of Lakehouse governance, let’s build together.
