Stephen Gilmore-Hall

Research Scientist III

Stephen Gilmore-Hall is a skilled researcher with extensive experience in neuroscience and cellular biology. As a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of California San Diego from October 2017 to September 2022, Stephen led characterization studies of AMPA receptor expression and developed novel fluorescent proteins for live neuron analysis. At PhenoVista Biosciences, from September 2022 to January 2024, Stephen served as a Scientist III and was the project lead for high-content screening and imaging assays across various biological fields. Currently, as a Research Scientist III at Vala Sciences since July 2024, Stephen is focusing on developing in vitro IPSC-derived neuronal model systems for functional analysis. Stephen obtained a Ph.D. in Cell and Molecular Neuroscience from the University of California San Diego, building a foundation in neurodegenerative diseases, alongside a Master's degree in yeast genetics and a Bachelor's degree in Biology.
