Jason Dent

Jason Dent is an accomplished software engineer and entrepreneur with extensive experience in leading engineering teams and developing innovative tools for programmers. Currently, they serve as the Director of Engineering at Valarian, where they lead a team in building scalable cloud applications. Previously, they founded Street Side Software and created widely used tools such as CSpell and the VS Code Spell Checker. Jason has also held senior engineering roles at Uber and Revinate, in addition to a notable tenure at Microsoft, where they managed the development of the Flight Simulator series. They hold a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Principia College and completed graduate studies in Computer Graphics at Arizona State University.
