John Lee

John Lee (GAICD) is an accomplished professional with a diverse background in leadership roles across various sectors, including transportation, sports, and health. Currently serving as the Chairperson of the NSW Bus Industry Taskforce and the Chair of SportsGrid, John is dedicated to enhancing service efficiency and grassroots sports management. As the Director of Corporate Strategy at VALD, John contributes to advancements in human measurement technologies for elite health and performance professionals. Previous positions include Director General of the Department of Tourism, Innovation and Sport, where economic growth and health promotion were prioritized, and CEO of Australian Sailing, focused on the advancement of the sport. John has also held strategic roles in the National Rugby League, including NRL Club CEO for the Sydney Roosters and the South Sydney Rabbitohs. John Lee holds a Bachelor of Education from the University of Wollongong and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
