Chris O'Connor is a seasoned Rock Mechanics Engineer with extensive experience in the field. They served as Principal Consultant at SRK Consulting from 2015 to 2016 and then as Senior Ground Control Engineer at Sudbury Integrated Nickel Operations from 2016 to 2019. Currently, Chris is the Chief Ground Control Engineer at Vale, having taken up this role in 2023. Prior to these positions, they were the Principal Geomechanics Engineer at Itasca Consulting Canada Inc. from 2002 to 2015. Chris also holds a Master's degree in Mining and Mineral Engineering, along with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, both from Laurentian University.
