Cláudio Mendes

Cláudio Mendes is the current Director of Engineering at Vale, overseeing engineering processes in Ferrosos, as well as leading operations in pelletizing and manganese in Brazil and Oman. Cláudio is also responsible for implementing the Operational Excellence System across Vale's operations and heads the EFC Carajás Railroad, the largest heavy haul railway for iron ore transport. With a background in various engineering and management roles, Cláudio has extensive experience in logistics, maintenance, technology, and team development. Cláudio holds an MBA in Business/Managerial Economics and is pursuing postgraduate studies in Maintenance Planning Engineering at PUC Minas and Ibmec.
