Emily Olson

Emily Olson currently serves as the Chief Sustainability & Corporate Affairs Officer for Vale Base Metals, a position held since April 2023. Prior to this role, Olson was Vice President of Global Strategic Relations at Freeport-McMoRan from September 2021 to April 2023. Olson has extensive experience in the energy sector, having held multiple leadership positions at BP from 2009 to 2021, including Senior Vice President for bp Europe & Russia and several senior advisory and directorial roles. Earlier in their career, Olson was the Senior Director of Public Policy at the National Corn Growers Association and served as a Senior Legislative Assistant in the U.S. House of Representatives. Emily Olson holds a Master of Arts in International Strategy and Diplomacy from The London School of Economics and Political Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and History from Loyola University Chicago.
