Fernando Costa

Fernando Costa is the Competitiveness and Performance Director at Vale, a position held since March 2004, where responsibilities include leading the Global Asset Monitoring Center for the Iron Ore Value Chain and applying advanced analysis techniques to enhance operational performance. Previous roles at Vale include Competitiveness & Operational Performance Manager, Centre of Excellence Manager, Senior Engineering Leader, Railroad Signalling and Operations Engineering Manager, Port Automation Engineering Manager, and Railroad Automation Engineer, where significant contributions to productivity and safety were made through innovative solutions. Prior to Vale, Fernando worked as an Automation Engineer at ATAN - SISTEMAS and FCA - Ferrovia Centro Atlântica SA, gaining experience in project management and communication systems. Educational qualifications include specialization in Mining Management from Fundação Dom Cabral, an MBA in Executive Business Management, and a Bachelor's degree in Control and Automation Engineering from the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais.
