Raphael Godard is an experienced mining engineer with a strong background in strategic planning and mine engineering. Currently serving as Principal Engineer at Vale since December 2019, Raphael has held key positions at Barrick Gold Corporation as Senior Strategic Planner and Manager of Life of Mine (LOM) Planning. Prior roles include Manager of Mine Engineering and Senior Mine Engineer at Resolution Copper, as well as Advisor in Mining Engineering for Major Projects at Rio Tinto. Raphael began a career with Rio Tinto's Diavik Diamond Mines, focusing on underground long-range planning. Educational qualifications include a degree in Mining Engineering from McGill University, earned from 2002 to 2006.
