Eric Johnson

Vice President Technology at Valent

Eric Johnson has extensive work experience in the agricultural industry. Eric began their career at Monsanto in 1983, where they served as the Brazil Technology Lead. In this role, they provided strategic direction for the technology portfolio in tropical agriculture, focusing on crops such as corn, soybeans, cotton, and sugarcane. In 2012, they transitioned to the role of Integrated Farming Systems - International Business Development Lead at Monsanto, where they played a key role in developing the company's international business. In 2013, they joined Valent USA as the Vice President of Technology. In this position, they provided strategic and operational direction for all research and development activities, including field screening of active ingredients, formulation development, and product registration in the US, Canada, and Mexico. Eric also collaborated closely with other affiliates of Valent Biosciences and Sumitomo Chemical Company.

Eric Johnson has a diverse and extensive education history. Eric obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from William & Mary, where they studied from 1975 to 1979. Following this, Eric pursued further education at North Carolina State University, where they earned their PhD in Plant Pathology from 1989 to 1992. Later on, they attended Washington University in St. Louis from 2000 to 2002, obtaining their Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Business Management.
