Economic Development is a top priority in Valley County.  The Valley County Economic Development Board serves as the primary facilitating organization for economic growth and development in Valley County. Ord, Nebraska is Nebraska’s first Certified and twice re-Certified Economic Development Community.  Fifteen years in the making, VCED has worked diligently to catalyze economic growth in area communities. Credited for being a rural role model for economic development by several national media outlets, including The New York Times and National Public Radio, Ord and Valley County is enjoying an upward trajectory fueled by the commitment to maintaining and enhancing the rural quality of life by spurring capital investment and innovation.
