Samuel Hocking

Samuel Hocking is an experienced rugby coach currently serving as the Assistant Coach and Strength & Conditioning specialist at Valley RFC since August 2021, where responsibilities include developing defensive strategies and overseeing forwards set pieces. Prior to this, Samuel held the position of Interim Chief Operations Officer and Defence Coach for the Hong Kong Rugby Union, contributing to the coaching of the Hong Kong Rugby XV's Men's team from June 2017 to November 2021. Additionally, Samuel served as the Director of Rugby at USRC Tigers from August 2014 to June 2021, where oversight included the Premiership Men's team, Women's Premiership side, a National League 1 team, and various youth teams. Previous coaching roles include being a Forwards Coach at South China Tigers and a Defence Coach at Ealing Trailfinders, along with experience as a professional rugby player. Education was completed at Liskeard Community College.
