Sonja Laakkonen

Sonja Laakkonen is a Product Engineer at Valmet, specializing in gasification since April 2017. Prior roles at Valmet included a Thesis Worker focusing on boiler chemical cleaning and a Summer Trainee involved in circulated fluidized bed boiler R&D. Sonja's experience also encompasses a Nuclear Power PRA Trainee position at Fortum, where responsibilities included probabilistic risk assessment, as well as Purchasing Trainee roles at John Deere, which involved supplier communication and service part purchasing. Earlier experience includes a position as a Salesman at Alko Oy, focusing on customer service and HR management assistance. Sonja Laakkonen holds a Master’s Degree in Energy- and Biorefining Technology from Tampere University of Technology, completed in 2018.
