Matthew Hook

Matthew Hook, CPA, CMA, is a seasoned financial professional with extensive experience in the gaming industry and content strategy. Currently serving as a Senior Portfolio Associate at Valnet since July 2022, Matthew oversees the management of the Fextralife brand, focusing on its strategic vision and mission. Previous roles include multiple positions as Director of Content Strategy at various gaming platforms such as Fextralife, Hardcore Gamer, DualShockers, Game Rant, TheGamer, and Screen Rant, where Matthew analyzed financial performance and modeled content investments. Additionally, Matthew has experience as Co-Owner, CFO, and Chief of Content at FictionTalk and The Games Cabin, and as Director of Cost Accounting at Canopy Growth Corporation, where the leadership of the Global Cost Accounting Team was essential. Educational qualifications include a CMA from CMA Ontario and a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) in Accounting from the University of Ontario Institute of Technology.
