Ashwin Pillai

Ashwin Pillai is a highly skilled professional with extensive experience in automation and high throughput screening within the biotechnology sector. Currently serving as Principal Scientist and Automation Lead at Valo Health since April 2025, Ashwin previously held key positions at Ginkgo Bioworks, Inc., where responsibilities included leading the deployment of the Revvity Signals ELN at an enterprise level and developing an assay catalog to improve data processing pipelines. Prior to that, Ashwin contributed to Pfizer’s Endogenous Antibody Discovery Group, focusing on high throughput screening infrastructure and innovative platforms. Ashwin's career also includes significant roles at Bristol-Myers Squibb, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and various positions in sales and team leadership during formative years. Ashwin holds a Bioinformatics Certificate from Harvard Extension School and a degree in Agricultural and Biological Engineering with a focus on Nanotechnology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
