Paul Brendel

Paul Brendel is a Senior Staff Data Scientist at Valo Health, having joined in October 2023, and previously held a position as a Senior Data Scientist at ClosedLoop. With a substantial background in data science, Paul served in various roles including Staff Data Scientist at Valo and Senior Quantitative Scientist at Verana Health. Paul completed a post-doctoral fellowship at Insight Data Science, focusing on health data science. Paul earned a Ph.D. in Epidemiology from the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health, where research included the development of a novel multi-bias adjustment method related to Parkinson’s disease and cancer. Additional academic experience includes roles as a Teaching Assistant and Graduate Student Researcher, along with internships at Amgen and a research assistantship at the University of Pittsburgh. Educational credentials include a Master of Public Health and a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience.
