Jon Hsu

Jon Hsu is the Co-Founder and CTO of Valon, a position they have held for 3 years and 1 month. Prior to their current role, Jon was with Twilio Inc. for 5 years and 1 month, where they served as Engineering Manager, Technical Lead, Senior Software Engineer, and Software Engineer. In their role at Twilio, Jon was responsible for developing and scaling billing and payment services to process millions of micro-transactions per day. Jon also conducted interviews for candidates ranging from interns to principal engineers. Jon utilized Python, PHP, Scala, MySQL, Redis, AWS, Chef, flask while at Twilio. Prior to Twilio, Jon was a Software Engineering Intern at Booz Allen Hamilton, where they implemented a search/analytics engine from scratch for the Booz Allen Hamilton website. Jon also worked with distributed systems on the cloud (Hadoop, Accumulo, Zookeeper, MapReduce) and was responsible for ranking algorithms, efficiency, data analysis, and project management.

Jon Hsu studied at Carnegie Mellon University, obtaining a BS in Computer Science in 2013. Jon's minor was in Machine Learning. During their time at university, they were involved in the Taiwanese Students Association and Club Ultimate Frisbee. Prior to this, they attended Harvard-Westlake from 2006 to 2010.
