John Ly

John Ly currently serves on the Finance Team in Tax at Valve Corporation since December 2023. Prior to this role, John held the position of Senior Manager, Tax at Paymentus from July 2022 to November 2023, and previously worked as a Tax Manager at Smartsheet and MOD Pizza. John began a career in tax analysis at Mentor Graphics, where responsibilities included sales tax compliance, and held positions as a Senior Tax Analyst and Sales Tax Analyst. John also gained experience as a Contact Representative at the Internal Revenue Service and completed a Tax Internship at Ray Jordan P.C. John has an M.S. in Taxation from Golden Gate University and a BA in Accounting and Finance from Portland State University. Additionally, John contributed as the Vice President of Membership for the Financial Management Association at Portland State University.
