Michael Edwards

Michael Edwards, P.E. has a diverse and extensive work experience. Michael is currently the Director of Global Engineering at Valvoline Inc., a position they have held since February 2020. Prior to this, they worked at Beam Suntory, where they served as the Director of Global Engineering from January 2018 to February 2020. Michael also held the roles of Engineering Manager from August 2017 to January 2018 and Project Manager from May 2016 to August 2017 at Beam Suntory.

From 2013 to 2016, Michael worked at Georgia-Pacific LLC as a Project Manager. During their time there, they led project teams and managed external resources to achieve targeted results and streamline efficiency. Michael successfully oversaw a project that increased machine capacity, resulting in cost savings for the company.

Before joining Georgia-Pacific, Michael was a Project Manager at Alltech from 2008 to 2013. In this role, they led a variety of domestic and international capital projects and built strategic relationships with government agencies. Michael also conducted site evaluations and feasibility studies to ensure the success of projects.

Earlier in their career, Michael worked at Bowen Engineering Corporation as a Project Manager from 2005 to 2008. Michael oversaw power and wastewater projects, managed labor and project expenses, and facilitated meetings with owners and contract managers.

From 2002 to 2005, Michael worked at Cornette Engineering / SCH Terminal Company as a Project Manager and Project Engineer. Michael collaborated with various organizations, including Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) and Union Pacific, to manage train and barge loading logistics. Michael also scheduled tasks and oversaw contractors to ensure project milestones were met.

At Geotech Engineering & Testing, Inc. & Marcum Engineering, LLC, Michael served as an Engineering Designer and Construction Inspector from 1999 to 2002. Michael directed survey projects, built strategic relationships with US DOE Corps of Engineers, and inspected construction sites for commercial building projects.

Michael began their career as an Inspector and Lab Technician intern at Fuller, Mossbarger, Scott & May (FMSM) from 1997 to 1999.

Michael Edwards, P.E. earned a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Kentucky in 1999. Michael then pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration, Management, and Operations from Murray State University, completing it in 2001. In addition to their formal education, Michael also holds certifications including Certified Project Director (CPD) from the Institute of Project Management and a Professional Engineer designation from the State of Kentucky. Michael is also licensed as a Realtor in the State of Kentucky.
