Al Horta has extensive work experience as a Survey Crew Chief. Al started their career in 1992 at the Town of Westfield and worked there until 2004. From 2004 to 2008, Al worked at Harbor Consultants. Al then joined Landmark Surveys LLC from 2010 to 2012. Al worked at DPK Consulting from 2013 to 2018 before joining Van Cleef Engineering Associates in 2018.
In 2002, Al Horta attended Essex County College where they studied Surveying Technology/Surveying. However, they did not complete a degree during that time.
