Arthur Abal

Arthur A. has a diverse work experience spanning from 2008 to 2021. Arthur is currently a Chief Operating Officer at Vana, a position they have held since June 2021. Prior to that, they worked as the Manager of Impact Sourcing at Appen from December 2020 to November 2021. Additionally, Arthur served as an Associate at The Cadmus Group from July 2019 to January 2021. Arthur also worked as a Research Assistant at Harvard's Belfer Center from January 2019 to June 2019 and as a Teaching Assistant for Microeconomics at Harvard Kennedy School from August 2018 to December 2018.

Earlier in their career, Arthur worked as a Consultant at PUR Projet from May 2018 to August 2018, where they developed a model to understand the impact of supply chain certification programs and agroforestry projects in the coffee supply chain. Prior to that, they held various roles at the Government of Timor-Leste, serving as a Senior Legal and Operations Adviser from May 2015 to May 2017 and as a Legal and Policy Adviser at the Office of the Prime Minister from January 2015 to May 2015.

Arthur also worked as a Lawyer at DLA Piper, advising on major projects in the energy, transport, and infrastructure sectors from February 2013 to December 2014. During this time, they completed two in-client secondments, one at a bulk water services company and the other with the Government of Timor-Leste. Before that, they worked as a Paralegal in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution department at DLA Piper from May 2011 to November 2012. Arthur started their career as a Paralegal in Administrative Law at the Australian Government Solicitor from February 2008 to July 2010.

Arthur A. has a Master in Public Policy from Harvard Kennedy School. Arthur also holds a Bachelor of Laws - LLB (Hons) degree from The University of Queensland, along with a Bachelor of Arts - BA in International Relations from the same institution. In addition, Arthur has a Sustainability Certificate from MIT Sloan School of Management and completed an Education Abroad Program at the University of California, Berkeley. Arthur obtained their High School Diploma from Brisbane State High School.
