Jonathan Thong

Jonathan Thong is an experienced finance professional currently serving as the VP, Business Development Manager at VanEck since June 2021. In this role, Jonathan oversees the distribution of a diverse range of financial products, including ETFs, Mutual Funds, and Digital Assets across key Asian markets such as Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Thailand, establishing strong relationships with various institutional clients. Prior to VanEck, Jonathan held positions at HSBC as a Product Specialist focusing on equity trading for UHNW clients and at OCBC Securities as an Institutional Sales and Electronic Trading professional. Jonathan's early career includes a role in Institutional Equity Sales at Maybank Kim Eng, where expertise in cash equity markets in ASEAN and Hong Kong was developed. Jonathan holds a Master’s Degree in Financial Management from The Australian National University and a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance from Flinders University.
