John Ameriks

John Ameriks currently serves as Principal and Head of the Quantitative Equity Group at The Vanguard Group, Inc., a position held since November 2003. In this role, John leads the management of active quantitative equity fund assets and advises on the Vanguard Strategic Equity Fund and Vanguard Strategic Small-Cap Equity, while also overseeing portions of other Vanguard stock funds. Prior to joining Vanguard, John worked as a Senior Research Fellow at TIAA-CREF from June 1996 to September 2003. John Ameriks earned a Ph.D. in Economics from Columbia University (1993-2001) and an A.B. in Economics and Slavic Languages & Literature from Stanford University (1987-1991).
