Paul McGhee

Paul McGhee is currently the EU Public Policy Director at Vanguard Asset Management. They previously held the position of Chief of Staff at the Association for Financial Markets in Europe from 2011 to 2014 and served as a Policy Adviser at HM Treasury from 2001 to 2005. McGhee also worked as the Head of Regulatory at Aberdeen in 2021-2022 and led the Brexit Strategy at abrdn from 2017 to 2020. They contributed as a Detached National Expert for the European Commission’s DG Competition from 2005 to 2007 and as the Director of Strategy at AFME from 2014 to 2017. McGhee’s educational background includes an MSc in Economic History from the London School of Economics and Political Science and an MA Hons in Politics from The University of Edinburgh.
