Industrial Design Lead at VanMoof

Marjolein Deun has a diverse work experience in industrial design and product design. Marjolein is currently working as the Industrial Design Lead at VanMoof since March 2022. Prior to this, they held the position of Industrial Designer at VanMoof from August 2019 to 2022.

Before joining VanMoof, Marjolein worked at Ace & Tate as a Product Designer from January 2019 to August 2019, and as a Junior Technical Designer from January 2018 to January 2019.

Marjolein also worked as a Manager at Theetuin Overleek from April 2007 to October 2017.

Marjolein has experience working on innovative projects such as developing a product at Senssafe that warns cyclists of approaching large motorized vehicles. Marjolein also worked as an Industrial Design Intern at npk design from January 2015 to June 2015.

Additionally, they have worked as a Concept Validation at SARA PLAST PVT LTD (3S INDIA) in December 2014.

Marjolein has also worked as a Product Designer at Sanitrax International BV from September 2014 to January 2015.

Earlier in their career, they worked as a Catering employee at Catering Creators from January 2013 to January 2015.

Marjolein has also worked as a Product Designer at TU Delft, where they developed a child ventilation mask for children with obstructive sleep apnea. The project was exhibited at various events including the Dutch design week 2014, Summerfestival 2014 at TU Delft, and 3TU Innovation & Technology Conference 2015.

Marjolein Deun's education history begins in 2004 when they attended Damstede Amsterdam and completed their vwo degree in the field of N&T in 2010. In the same year, they obtained a Driver Licence (B) from Rijksoverheid. Subsequently, they enrolled at Delft University of Technology from 2010 to 2013, earning a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Industrial design engineering. Following this, Marjolein pursued a Bachelor's degree in Industrieel ontwerpen (Industrial design) / Industrieel product ontwerpen from Lund University from 2012 to 2013. Finally, from 2013 to 2016, they studied at Delft University of Technology and achieved a Master of Science (MSc), Cum Laude in Integrated Product Design.
