Peter Rutherford

Peter Rutherford is an accomplished medical leader with extensive experience in the renal care sector. Currently serving as Vice President and Global Head of Medical at Vantive since February 2025, Peter focuses on medical strategy and increasing access to home dialysis and innovative organ therapies. Prior to Vantive, Peter held significant roles at Baxter International Inc. as Vice President and Global Head of Medical Affairs - Kidney Care, and at Vifor Pharma as Global Medical Lead for Orphan Renal Diseases. Earlier career highlights include leadership positions at QuintilesIMS, Baxter Healthcare, and clinical roles at the National Institute of Health and Clinical Excellence and NE Wales NHS Trust. Peter’s foundational education in medicine was completed at Newcastle University, following A levels in Science from Dame Allans Boys School.
